Cable Tool celebrates the economy of the Permian Basin and SE NM.
It all started right here at the cache. This is a local historic
site, but probably 95% of the locals don't know it exists. Hundreds
drive right past it every day and never realize what it is, or what
it commemorates. Without what happened here, the City of Hobbs
would not exist.
We had planned to do a regular cache at the site, but were
unable to get permission & the area is fenced. Access to the
virtual cache spot is easy and open - it's almost a drive-up
cache.
If you know much about the economy of this area, the name of the
cache should give you a hint what it is. But, in order to claim it,
you must email us with an answer to the following question before
logging your "found it" claim. We will delete any posts that have
not been preceded by an email. Do not include the answer to the
question in your cache log, even if it is encrypted!!!!
