Geocache Description:

A short walk on marked hiking trails at the Tilly Foster Farm Museum in the town of Southeast.

This easy cache is hidden along the yellow trail at the Tilly Foster Farm Museum, a Putnam County park in the town of Southeast, not far from either Route 6 or I-84. As you will see if you consult the trail map posted at the parking coordinates, the yellow blazes mark a series of trails that loop, cross and connect. The distance you will walk to reach the cache site depends on which of the yellow routes you choose. The terrain rating (2) reflects the confusion of the trails and the fact that some of the marked paths can become quite wet after a rainfall. You will not have to venture far from a marked trail to find this cache, which makes for an easy find but also leaves the cache vulnerable to passing muggles. So please be careful to camouflage the cache well after returning it to its hiding place. Two pencils were left in the cache when it was hidden, but it always is a good idea to carry a writing implement as part of your hunting gear. hunting.

Putnam County acquired this 199-acre property in 2002. The Tilly Foster Horse Farm Cache was hidden here in January, 2007, but in October of that year the cache was archived voluntarily by the cache owner. Tilly Foster has been without a cache ever since. Please respect the posted rules: the property is open seven days a week, but only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 4 p.m., gates are closed and locked.
