Come play a geo-round of Clue with us during the day in Springfield and then bring your results to the Geo-Clue event, Saturday, February 18th, at 5:30pm in Rink 2 of the Nelson Center to see if your detective skills are spot on!
How does this work? Do you remember playing the game of Clue? This is a modified geocaching version of the popular board game.
On Friday night before the event, we will post coordinates and a game card to the event page. (The gamesheet has been added as a related webpage.) You will have all day Saturday to visit these coordinates to find "clues" and mark them off your game card to figure out "who, how, and where" the crime occurred.
Bring your results to the event at 5:30pm to the Birthday Party Room in Rink 2 of the Nelson Center (the ice rink in Lincoln Park). After finding out who guessed correctly, we will issue the "prizes" then.
We will be supplying a few snacks (like chili con queso). Bring some of your favorite finger food to share (since you will be driving around in your car before the event ...we didnt want you to have to figure out how to bring a side dish, or other potluck item -- think chips, brownies, etc).
After the festivites are done, we can all go get pizza somewhere in the tradition of recent February CIGA Springfield events. There are some decent pizza parlors closeby.
Please dont try to get to the Party Room before 5:30 -- there are other scheduled events in there before us.
FAST FORWARD: OK! A Chirp (which can only be accessed by certain types of Garmin GPS'rs) has been placed to give you 3 clues to mark off: a suspect, a weapon, and a room! The Chirp's location is an additional waypoint. This cache can only be accessed on the bike trail. Suggested parking is at N 39 44.507 W 089 40.086
