Er gehört zur "Bunten Serie", die aus Marmoren, Glimmerschiefern, verschiedenen Gneisen und Amphiboliten besteht. Sie zieht sich als Teil des Moldanubikums von der Donau bis zur Thaya.

It is part of the "Varigated Sequence" consisting of marble, mica slate, different gneises and amphibolites. As a part of the moldanubic zone it spreads from the danube to the river thaya.
