Geocache Description:

This is a KFC (Kid Friendly Cache) and part of the PBS Dinosaur Train Geocaching Challenge.

You may want some boots and there is some poison ivy in the area.

Giganotosaurus:Middle Cretaceous period, about 110-95 million years ago
Pronunciation: jig-a-NOT-oh-SAWR-us
Meaning: Giant southern lizard
Animal Type:Dinosaur, theropod
Dietary Type: Carnivore
Size: Length - 44-46 ft (13.5-14.3 m), Height - 13 ft (3.9 m) tall at the hips
Weight: 8 tons
Major Fossil Finds: Patagonia region of Argentina (in southern Argentina, South America)

There is a laminated Giganotosaurus field guide card in the cache. Feel free to take a look but please leave this in the cache.

It is time to be teaching the young ones how to cache. I'm starting a series of KFC's to help families with young cachers catch the bug.

My definition of Kid Friendly Cache is:

  • Close to a playground
  • Less than a .2 mile hike
  • Kid Friendly Terrain
  • Kid Findable
  • Room for toys to trade

There is a lammy for the FTF and a Laura the Giganotosaurus figure and a first kid to find lammy for the first kid to find (kid means elementary school or younger). Please leave this prize in the cache for the first kid to come out and find the cache.
