Ronald Reagan was the 40th president of the United States. He was born on February 6, 1911 in Illinois, and died on June 5, 2004. He became president on January 20, 1981, remained in office until January 20, 1989. He was a member of the Republican party. He originally ran for president in 1976, but lost in the Republican primary to incumbent Gerald Ford. He decided to try again in 1980, winning in a landslide over then incumbent Jimmy Carter (489-49 votes in the electoral college). In 1984 he won over Walter Mondale in one of the largest landslide victories in presidential election history. He carried 49 of the 50 states, only losing Mondale's home state of Minnesota. Even the loss there was by only 3800 votes. In the electoral college he won a record 525 votes.

Reagan was called the great communicator. He had a special ability to connect with the American people which helped him win many debates and his two elections. He has become an icon for conservatism in the U.S., and is often ranked as one of the top five presidents of all time.

Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was peacefully ending the cold war resulting in the downfall of the Soviet Union. Also high on the list of accomplishments was a prosperous economy during his administration. His most famous quote is "Government is not a solution to our problem, government is the problem". This quote has become somewhat of a slogan for conservatives in the country.

This cache is a 50mm ammo box hidden in a usual fashion. It shouldn't be too difficult to find. It is well stocked with new swag. I have found several well stocked caches that I have put out to be completely empty when I have checked on them later. Please trade fairly. Thank you.

As always, since this is a cemetery cache... NO NIGHT CACHING!
