Cache is a small container, containing only a logsheet. Please bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log.
Talybont was once a busy industrial village. The Ysbryd y Mwynwyr (Spirit of the Miners) Project marks the history of mining in this area, and there is lots of information at http://www.spirit-of-the-miners.org.uk/. The village has a pub close by, a filling station/garage, a chemist's, a shop and a hairdresser if you suddenly need a haircut. Some parking available around the green. The fields close to the cache are used for the annual village agricultural and horticultural show on the last Saturday in August - this would not be a good day to search for the cache, but makes a good day out! You do not need to go onto any private property. Watch out for muggles!
There are several other caches close by, and this one could form part of a circular walk (about 2 miles) taking in some of them:
- Golygfa Dyfi / Dyfi View - GC39F94
- Ysbryd y Mwynwyr / Spirit of the Miners, Talybont GC31E2G
- CS - Yacking Yak GC2A3CZ
- Allt-y-Crib GC89V7D
Treat yourself to a drink or meal at the pub on the green, or a snack from the shop or the garage as a reward!
