A aldeia de Carapito recebeu foral de D. Manuel I em 10 de Maio de 1514. Está situada no coração da Beira Alta. Por entre montes e vales, é uma terra que sempre conheceu a abundância, sendo até conhecidos os seus habitantes por Regalões.
A sua serra, chamada de Serra do Pisco ou de Almansor, deve o seu nome ao general árabe Almansor, que entre os séculos X e XI tomou vários castelos da Beira Alta, de entre eles o de Aguiar da Beira, actual sede de concelho. Como cenário de fundo, e "vestida" de azul, pode ver-se também a Serra da Estrela.
Nas imediações da aldeia, os campos sempre verdes, são o principal sustento da nossa população. O Monte Calvário, ou somente Calvário, sendo o ponto mais alto da aldeia, com 716 m, deve o seu nome provavelmente a uma semelhança que lhe foi atribuída com o Monte Calvário em Jerusalém.
Neste monte existe uma velha carvalha e um cruzeiro, para além da soberba vista que se pode presenciar. O cruzeiro foi mandado erguer na década de 1960 por dois carapitenses, de nomes José Moreira e Maria José da Fonseca, esta última que vivei na aldeia até aos 102 anos. A cerimónia religiosa foi presidida pelo padre Silvério Cardoso, que ainda hoje se encontra na paróquia de Carapito.
Ali ao lado encontra-se também a Sede do Clube Cultural Recreativo de Carapito (CCRC), fundado em 1978, e que é também detentor do Jornal Caruspinus, o jornal de Carapito, fundado em 1979, e o polivalente, construído em 1995.
É também neste sítio que anualmente se faz a célebre feira do gado de S. Pedro de Verona.

The village of Carapito received a charter from King Manuel I on May 10, 1514. It is located in the heart of Beira Alta. Among hills and valleys, a land that has always known abundance, even being known by its inhabitants “Merry Ones”.
Its mountain, called “Serra do Pisco” or “Almansor”, owes its name to the Arab general Almansor that between the tenth and eleventh centuries took several castles in Beira Alta, among them that of Aguiar da Beira, the current head of the municipality. The “Serra da Estrela” mountain can be observed as a backdrop, "dressed" in blue.
The green fields, in the vicinity of the village, are the main livelihood of our people.
The Calvary Hill, or only Calvary, is the highest point of the village, with 716 m high. Probably owes its name to a similarity with Mount Calvary in Jerusalem. In this hill, there is an old oak and a cruise, in addition to the superb view that you can witness. The cruise was set up in the 1960s by two inhabitants of Carapito, naming José Moreira and Maria José da Fonseca, the latter lived until 102 years old. The religious ceremony was officiated by Father Silvério Cardoso, who is still in the parish of Carapito.
Nearby is also the headquarters of the Recreative and Cultural Club of Carapito (CCRC), founded in 1978, and is also the holder of the Journal Caruspinus, the Carapito newspaper, founded in 1979, and the sports court, built-in 1995.
It is at this site that takes place annually the famous Saint Peter of Verona cattle fair.
