go4buffs: Time to archive one of my beloved hides. We loved caching with our children, but as they grow up and as their lives get more complicated, we are also moving on to other hobbies...thankfully outdoor hobbies. Caching proved to be a great way to help our kids learn to love and respect the outdoors.

My beloved Reichswald, offering a wonderful playground for hikers, joggers, mountainbikers, kiddoes, and all lovers of nature. After all of these years enjoying its wonders, I still find new surprises.

I wanted to start this cache series to share my favorite parts of Reichswald - sometimes hidden, sometimes obvious - but always (hopefully) amazing.

This overlook is always beautiful on a clear day, but is truly brilliant in the fall, when the leaves are changing colors. It is truly picturesque with the colorful trees as the backdrop, with Sklavensee and the small path in the foreground.

There is a parking log (and playground for the kiddoes) close to the cache ... and an EXCELLENT Biergarten on the other side of Kalchreuth.
