Cette cache vous permettra de découvrir quelques villages typiques du pays de Caux, avec leurs chapelles et églises.
Les habitants d'Hermeville, petit village situé au coeur de la Seine maritime, sont appelés les Hermevillais et les Hermevillaises. La commune est située dans le pays de Caux, région à forte identité, riche de nombreux chateaux et manoirs et d'une architecture particulière (clos-masures, colombiers). La langue parlée est le "Cauchois".
Le village s'étend sur 3,8 km² et compte 368 habitants depuis le dernier recensement de la population datant de 2004.
La commune est proche du parc naturel régional des Boucles de la Seine normande à environ 13 km.
Des premiers raids vikings sur Rouen en 841 à la victoire de Hasting par Guillaume le Conquerant, en 1066, les vikings ont laissé une trace indélébile en Normandie, notamment sur la toponymie. Le nom Hermeville vient du roman villa (domaine rural) précédé d'un nom d'homme, de l'époque viking (Herman).
La cache est située au coeur du village, permettant d'admirer un magnifique lieu de culte. Attention à garder le respect de ces lieux.

This cache will allow you to discover some villages of Pays de Caux, with their chapels and churches.
The inhabitants of Hermeville, a small village in the heart of the Seine Maritime, are called "Hermevillais and Hermevillaises". The town is situated in the Pays de Caux, region with a strong identity, full of many castles and manors and a specific architecture (clos-masures, colombiers). The language spoken is "Cauchois."
The village covers 3.8 km ² and has 368 residents since the last census from 2004.
The town is near the natural park of the loops of the Seine at about 13 km.
From the first Viking raids on Rouen in 841 to the victory of Hastings by William the Conqueror in 1066, the Vikings have left an indelible mark in Normandy, including place names. The name comes from the novel Hermeville villa (country estate) preceded by a man's name from the Viking era (probably Herman).
