Geocache Description:

En runsten med ovanlig form. An unusually shaped rune stone.

The Vedyxa stone (U956) has been known since the 17:th century. At first it was thought to be broken, it was not until the 19:th century it was found that it has always had this angled shape. The stone was erected after Vidbjörn the Greece traveller and is carved by Åsmund Kåresson who worked mainly in Uppland during the first half of the 11:th century. During wintertime the stone is protected from mud and road salt by a boarding.

NOTE: Use the parking coordinates. Do not stop on the main road (282). There may be traffic with high speed!
