Burgstein historie
Hrad Burgstein vznikl s nejvetsi pravdepodobnosti na prelomu 13. a 14. stoleti, kdy dochazelo k rozsahle kolonizaci krajiny
Hrad patril patrne k prvotni ochrane rabstejnskeho panstvi,ktere zasahovalo take na sumpersko a jehoz strediskem byl Frankstat, nynejsi Novy Malin.
Neni take vylouceno , ze predchudcem hradu Rabstejn, ktery postavil Hrabis ze Svabenic ( 1254 - 1296 ) byl prave tento hrad, ktery v nemeckem pomistnim nazvoslovi nesl priznacny nazev "Burgstein" -hradni kamen a k nemu vedouci cesta se nazyvala "Schlossweg"-zamecka cesta.
Lidova tradice dlouho udrzovala povest o propojeni tohoto hradku podzemni chodbou s hradem Rabstejnem.
Burgstein poloha
Hrad Burgstein se nachazi v nadmorske vysce 620m. Na vychode byl vyuzit k obrane skalnaty zlom. Na zapade hreben klesa svahem a proto jej bylo nutne zabezpecit prikopem a valem. Na severni casti byl val zdvojen. Petiboka plosina je 31m dlouha a 17m siroka. Za ni spada pritesana skalni stena do 9m sirokeho prikopu, jez vznikl upravou prirozene prurvy.
Prikop se staci kolem zapadni strany hradku, kde je velmi melky, nebot byl vytvoren pouze navrsenim nizkeho valu. Na severu val mohutni, je podelne odstupnovan a vymezuje rovnez 9m siroky prikop.
Neni zdaleka tak hluboky jako na jihu, protoze zrejme nevyuzili prirodni rozsedlinu a museli ho lamat do skaly.
Pred sirokou partii valu, ktery prehrazuje pristupovou siji, byl vyhlouben jeste dalsi prikop, jenz se vsak vytraci v zapadnim svahu.
Plocha obytoveho arealu neni proclenena stopami po zastavbe, ktera s velkou pravdepodobnosti nebyla zdena na maltu a vzhledem ke skalnatemu podlozi ani zahloubena.
Burgstein ucel
Hradek na Burgsteinu slouzil k zajisteni bezne kolonizace, ale i k ochrane predpokladane tezby ( zbytky stoly jsou na leve strane malinskeho potoka asi 200m nad hrazi ).
