Special History in Cache!
Park at waypoint given which is at 1.5K on the Blakeburn Road.
Follow the rugged old Wagon Road. Good idea to do the Bear's Den
Mine (GC2C3ZD) first as it's on the way.
Quad OK almost all the way, but carry a chainsaw in case of
deadfalls. The last two hundred metres are very narrow and a Jeep
didn't make it and is at the bottom of the Gulch at the waypoint
given, so you might want to park just before that and hike in. The
last 60 metres or so you will have to hike in any case. If you
hike, it is about 6km and the trail is steep and rises about 300m.
Make sure you close the cattle gate after you, both going in and
coming back out. There is a lovely picnic area on the main trail
(also a waypoint). At about 4km. there is a 4-way intersection
(waypoint) where you go straight ahead (ie West).
7" x 5" x 3" Clear Loc-N-Loc. Items left: toy car, pliers, steel
blade, tire clock, toy race car, two 2011 50 cent pieces for
F-T-F, plus logbook, history, pen and pencil.
BEAR COUNTRY - DO NOT PLACE SCENTED ITEMS OR
FOODSTUFFS IN CACHE (even if sealed)
