Geocache Description:

A cache hidden in one of Asheville's Edible Gardens!

This cache is located on the outskirts of Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park. The park is maintained by the Bountiful Cities Project, a group of volunteers using urban land to teach sustainability and create community. This park is open to the public and hosts over forty varieties of fruit and nut trees as well as an abundant variety of edible weeds.

As a geocacher one of my favorite parts of going into the woods is discovering (in addition to geocaches) wild edibles! This park has many well marked trees and bushes to help you learn some varieties that produce fruit in our area.

The cache is a camouflaged micro (with room for some very small trade items) hidden on the outskirts of the park. There is ample parking very near the cache. After finding the cache, don't forget to walk the short way down into the edible garden! While searching for the cache you may be in view of several houses. The cache is hidden at such an angle so as to reduce their view of your activities.

The park is open from 6 AM til 10PM.
