Geocache Description:

One of the oldest existing geocaches in Florida from 2002, in one of the nicest and quietest parks in Glades County. Look for the ravines, canals, and Lake Wobegon along the trails.

At first the terrain is quite easy but gets rougher as you're nearing the location with some thorny vines and trees with thorns as well. Look for an ammo can. More importantly, look at the sandy mounds and think about the Native American people who once lived here digging canals to travel along in canoes.

Typical stuff: plastic creatures, little books, marble, keychain, and, oh, a travel bug. Make sure to look at as much of the park as you can and reflect on what once was.

This park which opened first in 1990 is named in honor of former Glades County's Tax Appraiser Larry Luckey.

On the first Saturday each February a "Sugar Cane Grinding Festival" is held with sugar cane grinding, displays and music. See Area Points of Interest for more local information.
