Welcome to the Fredericton Geocaching Tour!

This cache is part of the Fredericton Geocaching Tour. You are looking for a small container. In it is a message from the City of Fredericton, a log book, a pencil, and a symbol (for your passport). Download the passport HERE to track your progress on this series.

There are also rewards to earn on your progress with this series! After completing 5 caches, you will earn a wooden nickel. After you've found 10 caches, you will also be awarded with a pathtag. If you manage to find all 15 caches, you will receive a limited edition locally produced trackable pewter geocoin! (first come / first served for all rewards) to track your progress on this series.

This series is constantly evolving. If there is ever a cache disabled or archived, you can still claim the geocoin for finding the remaining caches. There are currently 15 active caches.

Bienvenue à le Visite de Fredericton Géocachatte!

Cette cache fait partie de la visite de Fredericton par géocache (chasse au trésor GPS). Vous devez chercher un petit contenant. Vous y trouverez un message de la Ville de Fredericton, un carnet de route, un crayon et un autocollant (pour votre passeport). Vous pouvez télécharger le passeport ICI pour suivre votre progression dans cette série.

Vos progrès dans la série peuvent aussi vous valoir des récompenses! Quand vous aurez trouvé 5 caches, vous mériterez une géopièce de 5 ¢ en bois. Quand vous en aurez 10, vous recevrez une petite plaque métallique. Si vous trouvez les 15 caches, vous obtenez une géopièce détectable en étain, produite localement en édition limitée! (Pour toutes les récompenses, le principe du premier arrivé, premier servi s’applique.)

Cette serie évolue continuellement. Si un geocache devient desactivé ou archivé, vous pourrez quand même reclamer les "geocoins" après avoir trouvé les caches qui restent. Il y a 15 geocaches actifs en ce temps.

STU Courtyard

St. Thomas University, located at the summit of Fredericton's College Hill, is among the top undergraduate institutions in Canada, and is national recognized as a leader in liberal arts. Founded in 1910, this catholic university welcomes students and faculty of all faiths and beliefs. As a small university, St. Thomas has invested resources in a limited number of programs - liberal arts, education, and social work. Consequently, its programs are focused, intensive and comprehensive. The University is also home to the Atlantic Human Rights Centre, the Holocaust Centre, and the New Brunswick and Atlantic Studies Research and Development Centre.

As an exclusive undergraduate university, STU's approximately 2,500 students are given the opportunity to actively participate in the learning experience. Classes are designed to encourage to interact with both their peers and their professors in a meaningful way. For its size, St. Thomas has some of the finest facilities in the country.

To find the cache, simply follow this path:
1. From the starting point, follow the stairs on the right side.
2. Continue until you reach a second courtyard.
3. Continue up the stairs on the right of that courtyard until you reach a parking lot.
4. Proceed to the main road. If you have climbed 253 steps, turn left. Otherwise, turn right.
5. Once you reach a road, turn to go down the hill again.
6. Continue down this road until you have reached the tree that looks like a power pole, near the second power pole. The cache is there.

Université St. Thomas

L'Université St. Thomas, au sommet de la colline College, se classe parmi les meilleures institutions d'enseignement au Canada et se démarque à l'échelle du pays par l'excellence de son programme d'arts libéraux. Fondée en 1910, l’Université St. Thomas est une institution catholique qui accueille des étudiants et professeurs de toutes les religions et croyances. Étant une petite université, St. Thomas se concentre sur un nombre limité de programmes, comme les arts libéraux, l'éducation et le travail social. Ses programmes sont donc ciblés, intensifs et approfondis. Pour trouver la cache, il suffit de suivre ce chemin:
1. Du point de départ, suivez les escaliers sur le côté droit.
2. Continuez jusqu'à atteindre une seconde cour.
3. Continuez à monter les escaliers sur la droite de cette cour jusqu'à ce que vous atteigniez un parking.
4. Passez à la route principale. Si vous avez gravi 253 marches, tourner à gauche. Sinon, tournez à droite.
5. Une fois que vous atteignez une route, tournez à descendre la colline à nouveau.
6. Continuer sur cette route jusqu'à ce que vous avez atteint l'arbre qui ressemble à un poteau électrique, près de la deuxième puissance poteau. Le cache est là.
