The first of the caches placed around the quiet village of Parracombe in North Devon.
There are 150 caches in the series,in three rings,the northern ring(caches 1-41,at 6 and 3/4 miles),the central ring(caches 42-85,at 9 miles)and the southern ring(caches 86-132,at 10 miles)[Distances given are from car to car doing the rings individually and include taking in the extra caches]
Caches 133-136,137-143,144-145 and 146-150 have been included to enable you to make a caching ring all of your own.
All directions given assume that the series is being followed in numerical order.
Most footpaths/bridalways in this part of North Devon are marked with a yellow square/blue square.
Not suitable for buggies or bikes.
It will be muddy in places,some footpaths are shared with streams!
All logbooks are small,so please only use one line for your log,just date and name/initials,no large stickers or stamps thanks.
There are 3 unactivated travel bugs,in the series for the FTF.(Tangled two found two and SMacB the other)
You will come across cattle and sheep.
We have been light with the swops,so any donated swops will be appreciated,thanks.
You will have to take a break where you can as there are no benches on the series.
No writing implements are provided so please remember to bring your caching pen.
You may need a torch for cache19.
CLOSING CACHE CONTAINERS:As with all cache containers,when putting the lid back on,please ensure that nothing gets trapped between the lid and container.Even trapping a piece of plastic bag will create a gap that will allow water in.Thanks.
Parking may be a problem as the small car park in Parracombe is used by locals,as they have nowhere else to park.
You could park at Blackmoor Gate and catch the 309/310 bus into Parracombe.The buses run Monday-Saturday and leave Blackmoor Gate at 8.15,9.20,10.47 and 11.50.
Going back to Blackmoor Gate the buses leave the Pub in Parracombe at 15.03,15.43,1703,18.09 and 19.01,so the buses will be at the crossroads near Parracombe parking just before these times.
Bradfordgull and Roots of Unity found all 150 caches on 26th July 2012!
