This is my first cache hide in a wood I love to walk in with my dog. There is parking not far away from the entrance to Brownmoor near the Sawmill. You will need either walking boots or wellies for this one as the track to get into the wood goes through fields that can get quite swampy!
This hunt isn't suitable for those who require wheelchair access or have to push buggies - mountain bike enthusiasts will manage this no problem though!
The route to the cache is a clearly defined path up through the wood - there are some slopes to climb up
The cache is hidden just off the path, up into the hillside. It is hidden in a natural hole in the hill side, hidden by a small mossy log and other moss and grass. You a looking for a regular clip lock box which contains a log book, pencil and a couple of swaps.
Enjoy the scenery from here as you can get a bird's eye view of the village of Ecclefechan! I hope you like it!
