The cache is hidden along the walking trail
“Simosenpolku” at the fireplace
“Kantoniemi” (Niittysauna) along the river Tyräjoki.
The walking trail is a well-marked walking trail in easy terrain.
The trail “Simosenpolku” officially starts at the
parking place “Romppasensalmi” and leads you along a
few historical places described in the books of writer-professor
Kalle Päätalo, among which the Museum Kallioniemi, Kalle
Päätalo’s childhood home. Along the trail are information
signs, telling you about the former life in the area. Other
starting points for a walk over the “Simosenpolku” are;
Museum Kallioniemi, Saija Lodge, Jokijärven Lomat and the crossing
of the trail with Simosentie.
From this crossing point it is less than a kilometer walk to the
fireplace “Kantoniemi”. The cache is hidden at the old
“Niittysauna” and also possible to find in wintertime.
The cache is a half-liter freezer box, containing a small notebook
with pencil and a few exchange items.
