Geocache Description:

Cache # 11

Everton to Beechworth.

This cache is placed next to the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and is definitely for cyclists, maybe for walkers and maybe for those with a thirst requiring a wine tasting. However, it is just over a 1 kilometre walk for those approaching from Mellish Street.

Pennyweight Winery was established in 1982. It is named after the Pennyweight Goldfields of 1852.

The vineyard is accessible from the Trail through a lovely old gate and past the vines. This is a nice spot to have a rest as all the climbing is now over and it is a quick downhill run into town. There are two square pieces of stone suitable for seating.

Please DO NOT enter via Pennyweight Winery but approach via the Rail Trail. Thank you.

In the summer months please keep an eye open for snakes.

As the Rail Trail can be extremely busy during holidays and weekends some stealth may be required.

The cache is a small plastic clip-top container with log page, PENCIL, a few trinkets and a PathTag.

CONGRATULATIONS - Joint FTF - Haveanez & Skullracing!!
