Embassy of the Netherlands in Poland
The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw - the building was opened on 1 October 2004 by Dutch Minister for European Affairs Atzo Nicolaï and his Polish counterpart Jaroslaw Pietras. In the green setting of Lazienki Park, the Netherlands is represented by a strikingly contemporary embassy designed by a leading Dutch firm, Erick van Egeraat associated architects. Van Egeraat’s design was inspired by the 17th-century Dutch master builder Tylman van Gameren, whose commissions included Nieborów Palace, Branicki Palace in Bialystok and the St Casimir Church in Warsaw. Glass, concrete and wood are the chief elements, they were used to create light and decorated structure with semi-transparent walls and plants motifs. The Polish public’s approval of the embassy’s design was demonstrated in 2005 when the building won first prize in that year’s prestigious Zycie w architekturze (Life in Architecture) competition held by the leading Polish architectural magazine Architektura-Murator.

Ambasada Królestwa Niderlandów w Warszawie - budynek zostal oficjalnie otwarty 1 pazdziernika 2004 roku przez ministra ds. europejskich, pana Atzo Nicolai, oraz jego polskiego odpowiednika, pana Jaroslawa Pietrasa. W otoczeniu zieleni Lazienek Królewskich Niderlandy zaprezentowaly sie bardzo nowoczesnym budynkiem ambasady, zaprojektowanym przez zespól jednego z najznamienitszych niderlandzkich architektów, Erik van Egeraat Associated Architects. Przy projektowaniu ambasady inspiracja dla Van Egeraata byl XVII-wieczny niderlandzki mistrz Tylman Gamerski (Tylman van Gameren), który zaprojektowal m.in. palac w Nieborowie, palac Branickich w Bialymstoku i kosciól parafii Sw. Kazimierza w Warszawie. Szklo, beton i drewno to glówne materialy wykorzystane do stworzenia lekkiej i bogato dekorowanej budowli z pólprzezroczystymi scianami i roslinnymi motywami. Budynek zostal doceniony przez polska publicznosc, czego wyrazem bylo przyznanie pierwszej nagrody w prestizowym konkursie „Zycie w architekturze” w 2005 roku przez wiodace czasopismo branzowe Architektura – Murator.

De ambassade van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden
De ambassade van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in Warschau - Op 1 oktober 2004 werd het gebouw geopend door de staatssecretaris voor Europese Zaken, Atzo Nicolaï en zijn Poolse collega, Jarosław Pietras. In de groene omgeving van het Łazienki Park presenteert Nederland zich met een uitgesproken eigentijdse ambassade, ontworpen door één van Nederlands meest toonaangevende architectenbureaus, Erick van Egeraat Associated Architects. Voor het ontwerp heeft Van Egeraat zich laten inspireren door de 17e eeuwse Nederlandse bouwmeester Tylman van Gameren, die onder meer ‘het Paleis’ in Nieborów, ‘Branickich’ in Białystock en de Kerk van de heilige Kazimierz in Warschau heeft ontworpen. Glas, beton en hout zijn de hoofdbestanddelen, deze zijn gebruikt om licht te creëren en een rijkelijk versierd gebouw met doorzichtige wanden en bloemmotieven. Dat het gebouw instemming kon vinden onder het Poolse publiek bleek in 2005 toen het de eerste prijs kreeg in de prestigieuze architectuurwedstrijd “Zycie w architekturze” (leven met architectuur), uitgeschreven door het toonaangevende architectuurblad “Architektura-Murator”.
