A series of water-accessible only caches planted along the course of the Welland River.
Chippawa Creek Conservation Area is a gem of a park that I have been taking my children and scouts to for many years. It is close and quiet and very pretty, though it can be crowded on occasion. I decided, after spending a day doing the marvellous line of caches laid down by dhcma and ddtkr, along Lion’s Creek at home, to plant a series of caches along the banks of the river that is the northern boundary of this area. All are accessible from water craft (a kayak, in my case). None require you to leave your boat or stand up. The creek is slow – perfect for novices – but the water is murky. Please exercise caution and follow safety rules.
You have your choice of where to put in your watercraft. The Conservation Area has a boat launch on the river (or from any of the riverfront campsites, my choice of options) or go get Cache #GC2H1WV, “Six Degrees of Wellandport”. The town has a boat launch there.
This cache is somewhat larger than a micro and it holds small swag and a coffee! byop
