This Letterbox hybrid is located in an arts complex south of Moorhead. Cachers might draw a little attention, but at this end of the overflow parking lot a little patience should see them to the letterbox undetected.
Pinus resinosa, the Red or Norway Pine, is found in the coniferous forests of northeastern Minnesota. A 120 foot tall Norway Pine in Chippewa National Forest is Minnesota's biggest. We could not find a Norway Pine in the area, but we did find a pair of coniferous evergreens that can help you locate this Letterbox hybrid.
The center has a grassy parking area south of the main building. The parking area has rows of trees in it and around it. To find this cache stand on the east side of the western-most of a pair of spruce trees in the south end of the grass lot. At a distance of 271 feet, on a heading of 212°, a tree will be found. The new location will let the cache bask in the sun all day long.
For the more tech savvy folks or those who don't own a compass, the coordinates above will lead you to the cache. However, if you have not used a compass for orienteering I do recommend giving it a try; no battery changes needed and they work under the thickest of tree canopies.
You are looking for a small container. There is some room for trade items and trackables. There is room for pens, but they don't do well in the cold around here, so be sure to bring something to write with. A stamp has been cut and included in the cache (it is not a trade item), but you will need to bring your own ink.
