O Estádio do RESTELO e os seus treinadores
[PT]O Estádio do Restelo foi inaugurado a 23 de Setembro de 1956, tendo feito em 2006 50 anos, com o Clube a realizar uma série de eventos comemorativos. A lotação original era de 44.000 pessoas (com projecto para aumentar para 62.000), tendo esgotado pela 1ª vez em 1 de Fevereiro de 1959. Hoje, tem cerca de 22.000 cadeiras, num total de lugares para cerca de 32.000. Mas a maior assistência ter-se-á verificado em Outubro de 1975, quando 60.000 pessoas assistiram à vitória do Belenenses sobre o Benfica, por 4-2, alcançado os azuis a liderança do Campeonato Nacional. Geralmente considerado um dos mais belos estádios Portugueses, foi durante anos local de eleição para mostrar a ilustres visitantes estrangeiros, desde a Rainha de Inglaterra ao Imperador da Etiópia.

José Maria Pedroto - Esteve no Belenenses nos anos 50, não como treinador, mas como jogador. Necessitado de dinheiro para construir o Restelo (visto ter sido despojado das Salésias), e num tempo em que as transferências internacionais eram raras, o Belenenses viu-se obrigado a vendê-lo ao F.C.Porto, por uma verba record. Em 1974, esteve quase a vir como treinador para o Belenenses, que nesse mesmo ano também tentou contratar Rinus Michels, Campeão Holandês e Europeu pelo Ajax, Campeão Espanhol pelo Barcelona e Vice-Campeão Mundial e Campeão Europeu pela Holanda, vencedor da Taça Uefa pelo Bayer Leverkusen (curiosamente, sendo na edição seguinte eliminado pelo Belenenses).
Fernando Vaz - Treinou o Belenenses em 58/59 (3º lugar) e em 63/64.
Mário Wilson - Treinador do Belenenses no fim dos anos 60.
Artur Jorge - Acabando a sua carreira em Portugal, como jogador, no Belenenses, voltou ao clube como treinador em 81/82 mas não completando a época. O Clube viveu então momentos terríveis, com falta de dinheiro, tendo algumas atitudes de Artur Jorge sido muito questionadas.
Carlos Queiróz- Já foi Seleccionador Nacional, 2 vezes Campeão Mundial Juniores, bem como técnico do Real Madrid e adjunto de Sir Alex Ferguson no Manchester United iniciou-se como treinador no Belenenses, em 1982, com a equipa de Juniores.
José Mourinho - o "Special One", vencedor da Taça UEFA em 2003, da Liga dos Campeões em 2004 e treinador (2 vezes Campeão Inglês, 1 campeão Italiano) ao serviço do Chelsea e do Inter de Milão, jogou no Belenenses, sendo, aliás, filho do guarda-redes Félix Mourinho.

Vice-Campeão pelo Sevilha. Depois do Belenenses, treinou o Barcelona (2 Taças Uefa e 2 Campeonatos e 1 Taça de Espanha); o Inter (2 Taças dos Campeões, 1 Taça Intercontinental, 3 Campeonatos e 1 Taça de Itália); a Roma (1 Taça de Itália); as selecções de Espanha e de Itália.
Henry Depireux - Em 1986 e 1987, fez o Belenenses regressar à final da Taça de Portugal e às competições europeias. Foi o 1º, no final de 1985, a falar na existência de "um sistema" em Portugal. Entre outros, treinou o Metz, o FAR de Rabat (onde foi finalista da Taça Africana dos clubes Campeões)e as selecções de Camarões (ao serviço da qual foi vice-Campeão africano) e do Congo.
Alejandro Scopelli - 3º lugar em 47/48; 2º lugar em 72/73; 5º lugar em 73/74.
Otto Glória - Ganhou a Taça de Portugal de 59/60 (ano em que o clube foi 3º no Campeonato) e as Taças de Honra de 59/60 e 60/61. Conduziu a Selecção de Portugal ao 3º lugar no Mundial de 66.
Marinho Peres - Ganhou a Taça de Portugal de 1989. 3º lugar em 88.
Abel Braga - Treinou o Belenenses na 2ª metade da época de 91/92, em 92/93 e começo de 93/94. Esteve 23 jogos sem perder. Recentemente, foi vencedor da Taça dos Liberdadores da América (equivalente à liga dos Campeões na Europa) e do Mundial Inter-Clubes pelo Internacional de Porto-Alegre. Treinou equipas como o Flamengo (tendo sido Campeão Carioca), Atlético Paranaense, Coritiba, Atlético Mineiro e Ponte Preta, Vasco da Gama e Marselha.
