Geocache Description:

Located at the site of the original Deportation Cross in Grand-Pre before it was moved to Horton Landing in 2005.

Travel to Grand-Pre and park in the National Historic Site's overflow/picnic area, located across the road from the main building. From there you can walk the dyke road that's right next to it. It's an excellent gravel road, but remember it's how local farmers travel from field to field so keep an eye out for working machinery during planting or harvest season.

After about a 12 minute walk you'll come across a railroad crossing on your right. At this point you'll need to start following the tracks to get to your destination. The railway has been long abandoned so there is a fair amount of growth along the way. If you stay on the tracks it is easily passable.

You'll come across another railway crossing. Travel straight through it and continue along the tracks for a few more minutes. The original location of the Deportation Cross is nearby. It stood there from August 1924 to June 2005. Since it was on private land, the cache is hidden up near the tracks so there is no fear of trespassing.

You're looking for a green plastic box with logbook, pencil,and various items for trading inside.
