Geocache Description:

IN THE BEGINNING....

there were open fields where we used to walk our old dog..... Then there was a housing estate, shops, schools and a nature reserve. Now.... there is a brand new Emmanuel church in the making.

Congratulations to wynner71 on your FTF.

When we moved to Bicester 14 years ago, the whole of this area was the site of Slade Farm. This entire development used to be meadows full of cows and sheep. If you look closely in the hedgerows, you will see lots of evidence of this bygone age. The provision of this church has been in the pipeline for many years and finally, building has begun. The start of the work was delayed due to a number of factors including the availability date of the steel frame. Erection of the framework began on 24th October 2011 and will be fully erected by mid-November. Work on the shell of the building is scheduled to be completed by early May 2012 but this will be subject to the vagaries of the weather. Once the shell has been completed, work will begin on the fitting out of the interior.

This church will be morphing in the coming months. Please do add to the gallery as building progresses and take part in Geocaching history.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
