Superhero - Challenge Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

HazMatter: As my good friend retiredprof indicated with his recent archives of all his challenges and in light of geocaching's recent changes to the publishing rules, I am archiving all of my challenge caches. I have two boys and not enough time to learn an entire new rule system. I think maybe geocaching has moved outside of the fun and more to the rules.

I am sad that I have to do this. For those who have already begun any of my challenge caches, please note that you can still log archived caches. If you have any problems with this decision, please contact the geocaching authorities so that your suggestions may be considered.
Cheers
T

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The above coordinates ARE the location of the cache. However, to log this cache as a find you must meet the “Challenge” requirements documented below. The cache is in Suburbia so beware of muggles. Parking is available within a reasonable walk. Also, bring a tool or be ready to use your super “skills” to retrieve this gem.

Superheroes stand for Truth, Justice, and Protecting the Public. The traditional superhero had a strong moral code that included a willingness to risk one's own safety in the service of good without expectation of reward. Additionally, the Superhero often refused or had a strong reluctance to kill or use lethal weapons in their service to protect the public. Growing up I was very much into Superheroes.

All of my lawn mowing monies went to the latest D.C. and MARVEL’s renditions of the superhero. From Superman and the Flash to Thor and the Incredible Hulk. I would spend my summer days under the tree in my front yard eating sunflower seeds and reading the latest stories involving my favorite Superheroes…. Ahhh those were the days.

When I first started caching one of my first series of caches was a Superhero series that starred the Justice League of America. Unfortunately, that series went down way too soon due to muggling (a few caches still survive). Since then I have wanted to do something similar. That brings you to my Superhero – Challenge.

Your job is to find at least 20 caches with Superheroes in the name of the cache. Ten of these Superheroes must be from the D.C. Universe and Ten must be from the MARVEL Universe. I will also accept superhero teams as well as the individual members of teams. For example “The Avengers” would be acceptable as well as “Thor” and “The Hulk” which are members of “The Avengers”. It is as simple as that.

In addition to finding 20 different Superheroes please find at least (5) different types of caches or categories (icons) when posting your finds. (Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Letterbox, Web, Virtual, Events. etc). This gives the challenge that extra star boost to the difficulty.

I am listing some APPROVED Superheroes you can choose from. This will increase as I get people ASKING to add additional Superheroes. But, I must APPROVE THEM.

The D.C. Superheroes are:

SUPERMAN, BATMAN, AQUAMAN, FLASH, WONDER WOMAN, MARTIAN MANHUNTER, GREEN LANTERN, GREEN ARROW, ROBIN, PLASTIC MAN, THE ATOM, HAWKGIRL, HAWKMAN, STEEL, DOLPHIN, WILDCAT, SHAZAM (CAPTAIN MARVEL), BLACK CANARY, SUPERGIRL, WONDER TWINS (both words) and THE JUSTICE LEAGUE.

The MARVEL Superheroes are:

SPIDERMAN, HULK, WOLVERINE, X-MEN (X-MAN), XAVIER, THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA, IRON MAN, DAREDEVIL, FANTASTIC FOUR, THING, WASP, ELEKTRA, BLADE, AVENGERS, WOLFSBANE, COLOSSUS, NIGHTCRAWLER, SUB-MARINER, ROGUE, HAWKEYE, DR. STRANGE, BEAST, QUICKSILVER, and SASQUATCH (SASQ-CACHE).

You may use the plural of the Superhero and you may send me “OTHER” Superheroes that are not on this list which I will determine if they fit. I may or may not allow them. Please remember I am using MARVEL and D.C. Superheroes.

I am adding one final requirement and that is you must find at least 2 of the 20 Superheroes after July 1, 2011. Easy Peasy!
