Lancharre était une commune à part entière jusqu'en 1845 , elle est maintenant rattachée au hameau de Chapaize
l'histoire du monastère semble remonter au 11eme siecle avec la création d'un collège de chanoinesses par les sires de Brancion.
plusieurs èglises se sont succédées sur le site : autrefois longue de 32m elle mesure aujourd'hui seulement 11,3m pour une largeur de 20,5m
sa rénovation a ete entreprise depuis plusieurs années par une association de bénévoles et si les exterieurs sont pratiquement terminés , la réhabilitation de l'interieur de l'eglise reste encore inachevée.

Lancharre was a town in its own right until 1845, it is now attached to the hamlet of Chapaize
history of the monastery seems to date back to 11th century with the creation of a scool of canonesses by the lords of Brancion.
many churches have succeeded at : once it measures 32m long now only 11.3 m for a width of 20.5 m
renovation was initiated several years ago by a group of volunteers and if the exterior is almost complete, the rehabilitation of the interior of the church is still unfinished.
