When arriving in Stockholm by a cruise ship one of the most frequent harbours is Masthamnen (Mast Port) at the island Södermalm. A shipbuilding yard was established here in 1687 and was called The South Shipyard or The Big Shipyard. The activity ceased in 1930. Nowadays big cruising ships from Åland/Finland and other countries land here. From the harbour you can have a nice walk along the quay to the Old Town and the city.
