Pasiene St. Cross Roman Catholic Church (also known as
Pasiene St.Dominic Catholic Church) was built in 18th century (from
1761 till 1770) and is one of most beautiful and magnificent
churches not only in Latgale region, but also in Latvia.
The church was initially built as Dominican monastery church
after the first wooden church had burnt down. The church
hasn’t been modified much, therefore the magnificent interior
can still be viewable - created by masters of the craft of 18th
century - both local and foreign.
In the end of 2008 the restoration of indoor and facade was
completed. Inside several art monuments can be seen - the central
altar, side altars, pulpit - but unfortunately the church is open
quite seldom. For indoors visit the local guides need to be
contacted (cell ph.+371 28656530 Ilga Ivanova).
Near the church the ruins of the old monastery can be seen.
Unfortunately the building was not renovated and one can only
imagine its former splendour.
The cache itself is a small lock’n’lock container,
placed outside the church, with log-book, pen, pencil,
pencil-sharpener (all these items are not for trade), some trinkets
for change (remember the golden rule - if you take something, put
something in of equal or higher value; no food, no perfumes, no
lighters, nor matches etc). There’s a small present for the
first to find - “you won’t believe it until you see
it...” :)
Please, be careful when searching for the cache and beware of
potential muggles when retrieving and placing back the container.
And please replace the container the same way it was - but
don’t overdo.

Baznica apskatami vairaki makslas pieminekli - centralais altaris,
sanu altari, kancele - tacu diemzel baznica vala ir reti. Lai
apskatitu iekstelpas, jasazinas ar gidu (mob.+371 28656530 Ilga
Ivanova).
Blakus baznicai redzama bijusa klostera eka, kas diemzel nav
atjaunota un var tikai nojaust tas kadreizejo krasnumu.
Pats slepnis ir neliela izmera lock’n’lock tipa
kastite, kas atrodas arpus baznicas un satur registracijas zurnalu,
pildspalvu, zimuli, asinamo (sis nav apmainas lietas), ka ari
dazadus niecinus apmainai (atcerieties “zelta likumu” -
ja ko panemat, nolieciet vieta ko lidzvertigu - nekadas partikas,
smarzu, skiltavu, serkocinu uc). Kastite ir ari neliela davanina
pirmajam atradejam - “you won’t believe it until you
see it...” (neticesiet, kamer pasi neredzesiet). :)
