Geocache Description:

Lunch is on us! Come out for a BBQ at an amazing location that not many others get to see and enjoy.

Yes, the BBQ is at the top of Two Peaks. We'll be firing up the grill (or some version thereof) at approximately 1pm. We'd love to see your head "peak" over the top just in time for a hamburger or hot dog. You put in the effort of getting here, and we'll put in the effort of feeding you.

We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, cheese, rolls/buns, ketchup, mustard and chips. Perhaps some onions, tomatoes and pickles as well but no promises there. If you'd like other condiments you are on your own to bring them with you.

No promises on this either, but we expect to have a limited supply of (self serve) soft drinks and beer (owners' selection ) on ice at the base of the mountain for you to haul up if choose. The location/waypoint of that still TBD.

For obvious planning reasons, it would really help to have an accurate head count by 8/17. We would like to assure that all those who respond get fed properly, and because of the nature of the hike to Two Peaks we'll probably have very little extra food.

The most viable starting points are the Pickett Pen Road access and Van Vleck access. I would think that attendees may want to depart as a group to make the long walk a bit more interesting. From the first gate off Pickett Pen Road to the base of Two Peaks is approx 4.5 miles (one way). The access from Van Vleck is probably a tad closer but finding your way on "trails" is not quite as straight forward. Pick your poison. If you have never done a "real" terrain 4.5 cache than be prepared...this is a "real" one for sure. But we hope to entice and sidetrack you with the smell of a BBQ...
