This cache is part of a series that visits the places that used to be but are no longer for some reason. This particular one takes you to 3 different places in Havelock that have been closed up and in one case tore down. All containers are micro and are hanging on something. They should be winter friendly but at least one will depend on how much snow we get.
The coordinates above will take you to the first stage which used to be the Irving. This location is a vacant lot that used to be the site of the Irving gas station and garage. Men used to sit and talk all day and when it closed the 'gosip bench' was moved to a local saw mill.
The second stage is at N 45 59.A W 065 18.B. A and B are 724 or 916. It is your job to determine which is which. The letter under the cover at stage 1 one will tell you which one (the north or the west) is larger. This used to be the bank. The building is now vacant and has been as long as I can remember.
The final stage is the site of an old business that was once the hub of the town, employing many of its residents including my grandfather, father and 2 uncles. At one point the company constructed houses along 2 streets (Maple and Garland) for some of their employees. When it close up the houses were sold and are now rented out. There is a plaque near the site recognizing the safety record of it employees. These building are still used by the lime plant so there may be trucks moving about on the path near the cache (some do not use the road) so please be careful. The container is located at N 46 00.A W 065 17.B where A and B are 863 or 195. Again the letter under the cap of the second stage will tell you which is larger.
