Geocache Description:

A l'entrée des gorges: Pont du Loup et son célèbre viaduc des chemins de fer de Provence (Ligne Nice – Draguignan). De nombreux touristes se faisaient photographier au pied de ses arches grandioses enjambant le Loup.

Monumental ouvrage qui fut dynamité par les Allemands en déroute. Pont du Loup qui se trouvait à ses pieds perdit de ce fait son prestige malgré son célèbre hôtel "La Réserve" où les visiteurs venaient apprécier les truites du Loup. Son dernier propriétaire allait lui donner le coup de grâce en organisant lui-même un attentat qui fit sauter l'établissement dans le but de toucher une assurance! Mais son forfait échoua et après plus de 15 ans d'abandon, le bâtiment est maintenant transformé en logements.

At the entrance of the gorges: Pont du Loup and its famous railway viaduct de Provence (line Nice - Draguignan). Many tourists were photographed at the foot of its magnificent arches.

This monumental work was dynamited by the Germans. Pont du Loup, who was at his feet thereby lost its prestige despite its famous hotel "The Reserve" where visitors could enjoy the trout of the Loup. Its last owner was going to deliver the coup de grace by organizing itself an attack that blew up the facility in order to receive insurance! But his plan failed and after more than 15 years of abandonment, the building is now converted into apartments.
