Geocache Description:

Kirkko

Orisberg Manor is located in Isokyrö. Its history goes back 1670's, when the three vasa kind of merchant, James Ross, the mayor and the county Korsholma hopman, Jakob Mornay, Stockholm, specializing in trade with the merchant, and Henrik Holmberg, alderman Orisberg founded the ironworks.
Contrary to expectations, does not, however, been found for the region of the iron ore, but was carried from Sweden. It was so expensive, however, that the blast furnace was moved in the early 1700 to Oravais Kimo, where was born in Ostrobothnia second iron works.
Orisberg history heyday began in 1783 when the ironworks bought by mountain man Bengt Magnus Björkman, who was which is in the same year also acquired Fiskars. Peace of Hamina in 1809 after the conclusion of Federer preferred to return to Sweden, and handed over Ironworks to his son, Lars Magnus Björkman, ennobled Björkenheim.
During his time the works were improved and the operation began on finally pays off. The manor of the current, drawn by the main PG Holm's foundations were built as early as 1804, but the mansion was fully completed until the 1810s. Orisberg iron works consisted of a complete community, when the manor had its own cemetery, and a wooden church designed by Carl Ludvig Engel. The iron works Orisberg ended in 1900, after which the manor was agricultural school. Björkenheim family still owns the estate, and a part of family lives in it.
