Geocache Description:

The cache is a small tupperware container, hidden on the Frimley Fuel Allotments.

Two hundred years ago, fuel allotments were a common feature of rural England. Almost every village had its plot of land set aside to enable the poor to cut turf or wood for their domestic fires. As better fuel became available in the form of coal and coke many of these allotments were made over for cultivation and that is the use with which most of us associate the word. Not much coal is mined in Surrey, the Frimley Fuel Allotments retained their original purpose into the beginning of the twentieth century and there are still some old inhabitants of Frimley who recall being allowed to cut down a tree on the allotments for fire wood. The area is now surrounded by Pine Ridge Golf Course. Please ensure that when returning it to it's original location, that the cache is well hidden.
