Geocache Description:

Saxon Woods Ge-"O"-Tribute: 10th Anniversary

This cache is a tribute to Saxon Woods Ge-"O"-Cache, GCC84, the oldest puzzle cache in New York State, and among the oldest puzzle caches in the world! GCC84 celebrated its 10th anniversary on June 15, 2011, and while the cache's owner "clunelaw" seems to no longer be caching actively, his original clever hide is still in good shape, and waiting to be found.

Like the original, you will have to master an orienteering leg to find this cache. The orienteering map used is the same as on GCC84. The RED leg on the map will guide you to the original GCC84, whereas the PINK leg will bring you to this Ge-"O"-Tribute cache.

For explanations on how to read the Orienteering Map, refer to the map legend. The cache's waypoint will bring you to the PINK TRIANGLE on the map. It is not too far off a trail, and is where two ancient rock walls meet at a right angle (picture). Perfect Tommy's "Old School" cache is right next door, in case you didn't get that particular smiley yet. From the initial waypoint where the old rock walls meet, you have to .. well, read the orienteering map, and follow its clues, to find your way to the cache. At the cache location, there is no need to do anything dangerous, the cache can be found without scuba gear and also without rope and prusiks ;-)
