Enter Herbert Taylor Park from either
entrance on Beech Valley Road and follow the trail. At the moment,
a lot of trees are down in the park and the path may be blocked
depending which way you choose. Final approach will involve stream
ford(s), rock scrambling, and a little bushwhacking through some
thorny weeds. Park closes at dusk and site may be inaccessible
during or right after heavy rains.
We often come to this park in the
spring seeking tadpoles and are rarely disappointed. Last year, we
raised at least a dozen pollywogs into frogs and released them
there again. As we were placing the geocache this evening, we
noticed a fresh clutch of eggs. Maybe the little guys we released
last year have produced another generation. This is great because
frogs
all over the world are declining in population.
There is a dollar coin for the FTF,
along with as much swag as we could fit in the small Pelican case.
I've also placed a TB with a fun little mission.
Congrats to kurokitty for being FTF!!
