St John the Baptist, Plush
Please note the co-ordinates given are to get the information to find the cache, not the cache location.
St John the Baptist is a 'different' sort of church. It was designed by Benjamin Ferry and built in 1848. The earlier church which it replaced stood a little further away up this same road. The present church owns some of the plate from the earlier one but, apart from that, it is completely Victorian. Externally, it is quite plain and doesn't have a tower. However, it has a particularly fine twin bell-cote. There is a good view of the valley and surrounding hills from the West end of the church.
Once at the church go to the grave of F W Cross and you need to find out the following information:
ABth September CDEF age GH
FX:JKLMN
The cache is at N50,49, FEG W002,24,(C-F)N(G+F). The cache is not in the churchyard
If anybody would like to expand this series please do. We would just ask that you contact
Sadexploration first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names and to avoid duplication.
