Terral.
Elle servira de thème pour vous faire découvrir au travers de
quelques caches des endroits de la ville qui ont fait son
histoire.
Lieu d'agrément et de promenade familiale près du centre ville, le
Parc de la Victoire s'étend sur 6,5ha. Bordé à l'est par une
pinède, cet ancien jardin à la française se compose de plus de 1800
arbres et 1700 arbustes. Parmi eux, un éventail d'arbres
remarquables tels l'érable plane, l'arbousier, le séquoia, le
libocèdre, le tilleul à grandes feuilles.
C'est en 1911 que le conseil municipal de Millau, présidé par le
maire André Balitrand, dédie à la promenade publique 5ha d'un vaste
champ acquis l'année précédente. Cet espace vert s'inscrit alors en
entrée de ville, au long de la voie ferrée. Il est engazonné et
aménagé selon une perspective centrale que soulignent deux allées
de platanes.
En 1964, le Parc de la Victoire devient parc urbain avec la
construction de la salle des fêtes. Il accueille désormais des
manifestations emblématiques de Millau, telles la foire d'automne
aux produits fermiers, le Mondial de pétanque, les 100 km, la fête
foraine...
En 1998, le Parc s'enrichit de l'espace botanique Hyppolite-Coste,
jardin caussenard témoignant de l'incroyable diversité de la flore
locale.
Le Parc de la Victoire accueille également une aire de jeux pour
enfants.

Occitan.
It will serve as theme to make you discover through some masks of
the places of the city which made his history.
Place of enjoyment and family walk near the city center, the Park
of Victoire extends on 6,5ha. Lined in the East by a pine forest,
this former(ancient) formal garden consists of more than 1800 trees
and 1700 shrubs.
Among them, a range of remarkable trees such the maple smooths, the
strawberry tree, the sequoia, the libocèdre, the lime tree with big
sheets.
It is in 1911 that the City Council of Millau, chaired by mayor
André Balitrand, dedicates to the public walk 5ha of a vast field
acquired previous year. This green space joins then in city
entrance, during the railroad. It is turfed and fitted out
according to a central perspective which underline two paths of
plane trees.
In 1964, the Park of Victoire becomes urban park with the
construction of the village hall. It welcomes henceforth symbolic
demonstrations of Millau, some the autumn fair in farm produce, the
Mondial of petanque, 100 km, the carnival...
In 1998, the Park grows rich of the botanical space
Hyppolite-Coste, garden caussenard testifying of the incredible
variety of the local flora.
The Park of Victoire also welcomes a playground for children.
