Einer der wenigen Unterwasser Tauchcaches in Deutschland!!
One of the few underwater caches in Germany!!
GERMAN:
Dies ist einer der wenigen UW-Caches in Deutschland. Er liegt am Gelände des ehemaligen Steinbruches Horka, an dem bis spät ins 20. Jahrhundert Granit abgebaut wurde. Teilweise sind Gerätschaften des Abbaus (Pumpen, Loren, Schienen etc.) noch unter Wasser zu finden. Mit Sichtweiten von durchschnittlich 6 – 10 m und zeitweise weit über 15m gehört dieser See zu den schönsten Tauchgewässern Deutschlands und bietet mit seinen bizarren Felsformationen, Schwärmen von Fischen und allerlei interessanten Objekten unter Wasser sowohl für Anfänger als auch für Profis ein wunderschönes Taucherlebnis.
Darum habe ich mich auch entschlossen, hier einen etwas anspruchsvolleren Cache zu verstecken. (Parken könnt ihr bei N51° 15.750 E14° 14.800). Ihr müsst insgesamt 7 Informationen zusammentragen, um das Final lösen zu können. Dabei könnt ihr die ersten drei Aufgaben mit Hilfe eures PCs von zuhause aus lösen, oder aber auch direkt am See. Die restlichen vier Aufgaben lassen sich auch ohne großartige Navigationsleistungen im See bewältigen, solange ihr eure Nullzeit im Auge behaltet! Die Hinweise unter Wasser sind mit Hilfe der Tauchplatzkarte an der ortsansässigen Tauchbasis allesamt leicht zu finden, allerdings befinden sich zwei auch deutlich unterhalb von 20m Tauchtiefe. Ich bitte euch daher, die nötige Vorsicht walten zu lassen, niemals alleine tauchen zu gehen und die gesetzlichen und örtlichen Bestimmungen zu beachten!
Und nun viel Spaß und vor allem allzeit gut Luft!!!
Die Aufgaben:
1) Wie tief ist der See an der tiefsten Stelle? Gesucht ist die Zehnerstelle der Tiefe (z.B. Tiefe 56m ? A = 5)

2) Wann wurden die Abbrucharbeiten am Steinbruch Horka offiziell eingestellt? Auf dem Weg hinunter findet ihr vor der letzten Treppe zum See einen massigen Steinquader, auf dem das Datum eingehauen wurde. Gesucht ist die vierstellige Jahreszahl!

3) Welche Hausnummer hat die ansässige Tauchbasis?

Ab hier geht’s unter Wasser!!! Dieser Cache ist nicht für Anfänger oder unerfahrene Taucher geeignet! Bitte taucht niemals alleine und beachtet gesetzliche und örtliche Bestimmungen. Es sind insgesamt vier Aufgaben im See zu lösen:
4) Direkt neben der tiefsten Stelle des Sees befindet sich noch ein Relikt aus Zeiten des aktiven Granitabbaus. In diesem Objekt findet hat sich eine Nummer versteckt. Wie lautet sie?

5) Im See liegt ein alter Zigarettenautomat. Welche Zigarettenmarke befand sich im 6. Schacht von links im Automaten? Gesucht ist die Stelle des 2. Buchstabens der Marke im Alphabet! (Beispiel: Marlboro , E = 1)

6) Im sogenannten 3. Arm finden sich noch einige Gegenstände aus vergangenen Bergbautagen. An einer rostigen Lore (bei etwa N51° 15.747 E14° 14.953) findet ihr ein weiteres Hinweisschild mit einer Nummer! Wie lautet sie?

7) Ein letztes Hinweisschild ist im See an einem versunkenen Baum angebracht, dessen Ast der Form einer Steinschleuder ähnelt. Diesen findet ihr auf etwa 11m, wenn ihr nach dem Einstieg rechts vorbei an den Haien in den sogenannten 1. Arm des Sees taucht (für nicht Ortskundige: etwa bei den Koordinaten N51°15.769 E14° 14.889)!

Das Final ist natürlich wieder über Wasser versteckt, denn ein Logbuch unter Wasser war meiner Meinung nach zu aufwendig und der eine oder andere möchte vielleicht auch etwas traden…

Ihr findet das Final, indem ihr folgende Berechnungen durchführt:
S = A*E + C
TUV = (B/E - (C+D)*F)-D
W= E*G
XYZ = (B/E - G*F) + A

E 14° W.XYZ
Bitte versteckt den Cache wieder sorgfältig, es muggelt teilweise sehr stark.
ENGLISH:
This is one of the few underwater caches in Germany!!! It is lying at the area of the former quarry Horka which was mined for granite until the late 20th century. Nowadays the quarry is known as an excellent dive site, where you can still find some mining relics in the form of pumps, pipes and tipper wagons under water. An average visibility of 6 to 10 meters, which can be even above 15 meters in good conditions, makes the lake one of the best dive sites in Germany with beautiful rock formations, shoals of fishes and all sorts of interesting objects under water where both beginners and pros can have a lovely dive experience.
This is why I chose this location for a bit more demanding cache (you can start at the parking area at N51° 15.750 E14° 14.800). Altogether you will have to solve seven puzzles to uncover the coordinates of the final location of the cache. The first three of them you can comfortably solve from at home with your pc or at the dive site itself. To solve the remaining four puzzles you will need scuba gear and some patience but no extraordinary navigational skills under water as long as you keep an eye on your maximum dive time. By means of the dive map at the local dive basis you will easily find the hints under water, but two of them are much deeper than 20 meters. Therefore I ask you to be really careful, never dive alone and obey the legal and local laws.

The puzzles:
1) How deep is the lake at its deepest place? You will need the depth divided by ten in whole numbers (e.g. depth is 56 meters, A =5).

2) When the mining at the quarry Horka has been officially stopped? At your way down to the lake you will find a big ashlar right in front of the last stairs where the date has been hammered in. You will need the year in four digits.

3) What is the house number of the local dive basis?

You have to go under water to solve the following puzzles!!! This cache should not be done by beginners or inexperienced divers! Altogether there are four puzzles under water:
4) In close proximity to the deepest spot you can find a relic from former times of mining. Inside of this object there is hidden a number. Which one?

5) There is also an old cigarette machine lying down below in the lake. Which brand was contained in the 6th slot from the left? You will need the position of the second character of the brand in the alphabet (e.g.: Marlboro, E = 1)

6) In the third indentation of the lake there are still some objects from former times of mining. Attached to a rusty tipper waggon (for those who are not familiar with the dive site: approx.at N51° 15.747 E14° 14.953) you can find another sign with a number! Which one?

7) The last sign is attached to a sunken tree, which branches resemble a slingshot. You will find it at approx. 11 meters depth, if you dive from the entry past the sharks into the first indention of the lake (approx. at N51°15.769 E14° 14.889)!

Of course you will find the final outside of the water so that there is a dry logbook and the chance to trade items.
