We are planning on releasing ten new caches throughout Waterbury in areas that need to be cleaned up. We also plan to have the caches published about 8:30 am on May14th,2011. Please come have fun geocaching and picking up litter along the way to clean up the environment. We plan on having FTF prizes in each of the new caches. Please come meet us at the staging area at the coordinates listed above on May 14, 2011 anytime from 830am to 930am.
This event is in conjunction with city-wide Earth Day clean-up and is endorsed by the City of Waterbury Litter commision. We are a group of local high school students involved with afterschool programs at Waterbury Youth Services. We are working along with representatives from Waterbury PAL. On May 14, 2011 we will be meeting at the above coordinates at 830am and handing out information about the clean-up. Look for the CITO table at the staging area and pick up some free swag to use while out caching and cleaning Waterbury. Representatives from the Litter Commission will also be present handing out garbage bags and gloves to be used for the clean-up. Participants will also be given free bottled water and a coupon for a free hot dog, chips and soda to be used at a local at local fast food restaurant later the same day. We are challenging everyone in this area to come and help make Waterbury a cleaner place to cache. Mark your calenders, we hope everyone can make it. Groundspeak says that they will be sending some door prizes but I have to get an idea of how many people will be attending by asking everyone to log on this page if they intend on being at the event.
