Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache that must be solved using the item/directions found at the posted coordinates.

This is a series dedicated to the individuals who assisted me in my journey from sightless to the visually enabled. My eyesight hadn’t been very good for some time. Probably about 3 years or so. But, from the beginning of December until the beginning of January, I suffered the rapid deterioration of sight in one of my eyes - the other one was already pretty much useless. During this time, I saw several doctors and was generally assisted by people as one would expect I would need. Today, I’m happy to report I have 20/20 vision - in one eye. The other one is still pretty much useless, but that will be fixed at some point soon too.

As one might imagine, it can be rather challenging looking through a perpetually foggy lens. This series has been designed to be just as challenging. Sight will be the theme for these caches. Each of these caches is a multi-stage cache. The first stage at the posted coordinates will get you to the second stage, as long as you can see where to go. The direction you must go will not always be readily apparent. Each of these puzzles will require additional equipment that not every cacher will always have with them.

After visiting with Dr. Kao, I was sent here, on a Sunday, to see Dr. Conti, MD a retina specialist. Dr. Conti opened his office on a Sunday afternoon to see me. The reason for the urgency was that cataracts, which was and had been for some time, my diagnosis are not supposed to cause sudden vision loss. It was possible, but not likely. Other likely possibilities included, infection, detached retina, cancer, and all sorts of other badness - badness which would be best to be dealt with sooner than later.

After taking me in and putting me through a battery of radically uncomfortable tests, it was determined that my retina wasn’t detached, and that it was probably, maybe cataracts and I should follow up with my GP to be sure. Onward and upward!

Thank you Dr. Conti - You went above and beyond and missed part of a Bears game to help me out.
