Geocache Description:


Cache is not located at the above coordinates, but use them for parking.
The cache will be impossible to find in daylight. You will need a strong torch that when held at eye level will produce maximum effect. The cache is located in the woods, so make sure you use parking cords to get back to your car.


A few years ago I worked at the American airbase not too far from here. I worked"swing shift" so I would leave work around midnight. I had to travel through some dark, spooky, woods to get home. One evening I passed a lonely hitchhiker who was wearing camouflage clothing similar to what I was wearing. Thinking that he was a fellow comrade that had car trouble, I pulled over to assist. He turned out to be this scary looking man that wanted a lift down the road. I had never picked up a stranger before, so I was hesitant at first, but his eyes stared at me in such a way that I let him in. I cannot remember too much about the conversation we had, but I do remember him telling me his name was Henry. While driving in the deepest part of the woods he asked me to pull over and let him out. I questioned "here?"...it's the middle of the woods!! He got out and disappeared into the trees. I was thinking, did he live there? Was he hiding from someone..like the law? I saw Henry hitching a ride a few times later that year near to the spot that I dropped him off. When I walk my dog in the woods I can sense that Henry is about. He lives in these woods.
******To find the cache******: Stand at the small post at the start of the footpath in the parking area. Turn and shine your torch 90° to the right..you will see an example of the tacks you will follow. This is just an example. Walk down track for 230 hiker paces and start pointing torch toward right side of tree line. When you see the first tacks, turn left from pathway into the woods. Follow the red and white tacks and symbols one by one until you see Henry's two arrows pointing towards his camp. Go to the arrows and locate Henry's first initial "H" in the camp. Stand with your back against the initial and walk 9 paces forward. The cache will be near your feet. *****Run like hell if you hear him returning to his camp. I heard he doesn't like visitors. Please replace cache exactly how you found it.

Do's and Don'ts.......
Do's: Bring at least two good light sources and spare batteries...I would recommend a head lamp so to free up your hands.
... Look where you are walking while searching for reflectors..there is alot of stuff to trip over.
... Make sure you have parking cords so you can get back if lost. There are return tacks that will lead you out to the main track
...Wear sturdy footware...You would't want to sprang an ankle and have Henry get you..(just like in the movies)
... Have fun!
Dont's: Do NOT do this alone!!!
... Do not get excited and rush to each reflector tack..there is a lot of stuff to bang and bump into in the dark. Maybe even Henry!!
