Pour accéder au site, soit par la route, il est facile d'y stationner, soit au départ de Lorient en prenant pour le prix d'un ticket de bus la vedette qui traverse la rade direction Pen Mané.
Le Fort de Pen Mané dont il ne reste que des ruines a été édifié vers 1761 pour protéger Lorient des invasions anglaises. C'est le point le plus haut pour découvrir la rade. A partir de cet endroit on peut découvrir l'embouchure du Blavet, celle du Scorff qui se termine par le port militaire, le port de commerce et en se déplaçant vers le port de Sainte Catherine la base de Keroman, l'ile Saint Michel (terrain d'entrainement des commandos) et les remparts de la citadelle de Port Louis. N'oubliez pas vos jumelles et votre appareil photo.
Access the site either by the road, it is easy to park, either starting from the limelight by Lorient towards Pen Mane with a bus ticket
Fort de Pen Mane which nothing remains but ruins was built around 1761 to protect English invasions of Lorient. This is the highest point fordiscovering the bay. One can discover the mouth of the Blavet, Scorff that ending the military port, the port of trade and moving to St Catherine based Keroman, ile St Michel (training ground commandos) and the remparts of the citadel of Port Louis. Do not forget binoculars and camera.
