[FR] Anno 2010 nouveaux itinéraires signalés ont été ouvertes pour promouvoir la marche en été et en hiver: Fenêtre sur Plaine et Sentier du Blanchet (en hiver, c'est un parcours raquettes signalés). Ce GC-promenade est un aller-retour d'environ 4 km et fera usage de ces voies en sens inverse (!). Le voyage vous apportera environ 200m au dessus du village.
Pendant la promenade, vous verrez des tableaux de informations et en plus vous pouvez avoir de belles vues sur les deux montagnes marquant de la vallée: le ‘Mont de la Grange’ et ‘Les Cornettes’; au cours de beaux jours, vous serez en mesure d'afficher les Dents du Midi situé derrière Châtel.
Dix questions vous mènera à la cache. Tous les points de passage sont donnés et doivent être très claires. L'objectif est d'offrir une promenade agréable, pas un exercice mathématique ou une expérimente d'orientation. A la fin du voyage, vous pouvez découvrir la cache. La promenade est hors de danger (pas de risque d’avalanches), mais une certaine expérience de marcher est nécessaire. Enfin, c'est un voyage dans les basses montagnes!
C’est facile de parking dans le village. Un parking alternative est dans la direction de Chevenne, mais ensuite vous avez de marcher retour au village.

[EN] This tour will start at the heart of the village La Chapelle-d'Abondance, a small community in the Haute-Savoie. La Chapelle is situated in the Abondance Valley - known for its Abondance cheese - between Abondance and Châtel. The village consists of several historical buildings such as the 'Notre Dame de La Compassion', and offers numerous hotels, restaurant and sports shops. The village is a starting point for walking, mountain biking, paragliding and skiing: Portes-du-soleil.
Anno 2010 new marked routes were opened to promote walking in summer and winter: 'Fenêtre sur Plaine' & 'Sentier du Blanchet' (in winter this is a marked raquette route). This GC-walk is a round-trip of about 4 km and will make use of these routes in opposite direction (!). The trip will bring you approximately 200m above the village.
During the walk you will see several information tables and you might have nice views on the two marquant mountains of the valley: the Mont the Grange and Les Cornettes; during beautiful days, you will be able to view the Dents du Midi located behind Châtel.
Ten questions will lead you to the cache. All the GC waypoints are given and should be very clear. The goal is to offer a nice walk, not a mathematical exercise or way-finding experiment. At the end of the trip you will be able to discover the cache. The walk is save (no risk for avalanches), but some walking experience is required. Finally, it's a trip in the lower mountains!
Parking is easiest in the village. An alternative parking is in the direction of Chevenne, but then you have to walk (back) to the village first.
The cache description is in English for now, as it seems that the cachers in this valley come from several European countries.
