Geocache Description:

This year’s event will start at 9:00am on Saturday or run until everyone leaves on Sunday.

Nestled in a bog along the Piscataquis River, the campsite is protected from the high winter winds and is filled with warmth from the campfire. The campsite can be accessed by snowshoe, skis or snowmobiles. We plan to have a few new activities this year and many of the old ones. We'll probably even have a night cache and a surprise or two.

On Saturday, there will be a pot luck dinner for all. Bring your favorite campfire dinner or cook on your camp stove. If you have something particular in mind, bring it. Afterward, everyone gets desert and a campfire.

The campfire will be lit most of the time, but especially in the evening. There will be hot chocolate for all, all day. Bring your favorite campfire game. You might even try to teach us cool new game!

If you’ve never been winter camping before, this is the time to try it. The trail from the road is about 1 mile and the bottom descends about 150 feet. You may want to learn skiing.

Check back here before the event for important announcements. If the weather forecast does require us to cancel, postpone or relocate the event, we'll post it here.
