Another event to kick off Geocaching in Saskatchewan in
2011!
*** This just in: Rumour has it that a
rare Saskatchewan Geocoin will be given away as a prize at this
event! ***
Geocaching is an activity highly dependent upon technology such
as the web, GPS devices, and all of their associated features and
complexities. In that light, we invite all geocachers, new and
experienced, to an afternoon out of the cold to meet fellow
geocachers and pick up some new tips and tricks along the way.
Out-of-towners are welcome too!
The library has a large meeting room with a projection screen,
so we will try to bring a data projector so all attendees can see
the big screen. The library also provides free WiFi, so you are
encouraged to bring your laptop if you wish to try out or show
anything using Internet access while you are there.
There is a Tim Hortons conveniently located just across the
parking lot for the coffee-inclined attendees. (waypoint provided
) The library closes at 5:00PM, so we have to clean up and be out
by then. Afterwards, interested parties are free to reconvene at
the nearby Tim Hortons or elsewhere.
We hope to make this type of event a more regular occurance to
cover more topics related to GPS and Geocaching, so if you aren't
able to make this one, we look forward to seeing you at the next
one!
Planned topics for this event:
Geocaching.com Features
Geocaching Swiss Army Knife
(GSAK)
We hope to see you there!
