Might be vertically challenging for small children and cachers under 6 feet. Original cache was broken so we replaced it just a few feet away. Strongly suggest that a 4X4 is used if you drive up to the cache. High clearnace vechicle highly recommended. Suggest you park at the end of the road and walk if you do not have a high clearance geo-rig
50 or so years ago, Salton Sea was the spot to be on a weekend or Holiday for water skiers all over Southern California. The west shore beaches would fill up with boats, tents and campers, much like the ATV people fill the desert today. RV and trailers were still a distant craze but pup tents and old parachutes linned the shore. Every palm font roofed cabana along the shore was filled with skiers.
Sundial Beach was a hot spot. At one time there was a ski jump nearby. The only thing remaining today is the old sign. (update: The Sundial Sign has been removed after standing for over 50 years, so sad to see a bit of Sea History lost)
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS AN OLD COFFEE CAN WITH SOME JUNK AND A LOG THAT SOMEONE PUT THERE. THAT IS NOT THE CACHE.
