ACT 1000 Club No. 2 Mystery Cache

Sol de lune: Time for this series to go. With the advent of the ‘power trail’, the goal of finding 1000 caches can now be achieved over a good weekend. With that in mind, coupled with the fact that not all cachers stats are available to be found, the relevance of the series is diminished.

Thanks to all found who the cache, which has now been collected and removed…

The cache is not at the above co-ords...........

Number 2 in the ‘ACT 1000 Club’. The number of cachers is growing and so are the number of caches. (This cache has been reworked and moved due to the new Canberra suburbs being developed at the previous GZ)

The newest members of the ACT 1000 club, in no particular order, are:

SecretSquirrel-BJC,
Captain Tomato,
Mtrax,
fitzy_1965,
Bewilderbeest, and
Sol de Lune

To find the cache, which is located at South 35 21.ABC & East 149 08.DEF, all you need do is answer a question about the new club members and their 1000th find. To assist you make the calculation, there will be a clue with each description. Easy enough really, so here you go.

Sol de Lune = B

The 1000th was a find not in the ACT, but the cache is owned by a prominent ACT cacher. The find was made in Nov 2008 and has the comment that it is the 1000th find.

B = either number in the GC number +1

fitzy_1965 = C

Another ACT 1000 Club member where the 1000th find was not in the ACT.
This find was made in Mar 09 while on a big run. The name of the cache suits the finder.

C = First number in the GC number

Mtrax = D

Yet another cacher whose 1000th find is not in the ACT….and this one is not even in Australia. Found during the period Jun-Jul 09 and the log mentions that this find is number 1000.

D = Add the numbers in the GC number together.

SecretSquirrel-BJC = A

The Squirrel is known for placing caches out in the never never regions of the ACT..........Namadgi National Park. All those who venture out there usually enjoy the experience – and why wouldn’t you when there are usually 2 or 3 caches to find grouped together.

The Squirrel’s 1000th find is a combination of both GC and GCA caches (as stated in his log) and was achieved about Aug 08.

A = the Squirrel’s overall experience for his 1000th.

Bewilderbeest = E

Bewilderbeest, along with his family, found his 1000th cache around Jun-Jul 09. A cache with some great Southern Canberra Views, was a good one to bring up number 1000.

E = The day this cache was PLACED, added together
e.g. 11th = 1+1=2

Captain Tomato = F

The Captain made his 1000th find way back in about Jun-Jul 08, and it was an FTF with the Squirrel.

F = The number in the GC number, +2

If you park at the listed co-ords, it is a shortish walk to GZ.
