Geocache Description:

A cache located in the woods a short hike in on a dirt road or drive right to it with a ATV or snowmobile (snow permitting!).

Update 12/26/2021 : Made it back to the cache for the first time since 2016. There is a lot of downed trees that weren't there last time. Cache is still accessible but requires some working around the downed trees. The Co-ordinates at least from my hand held GPS gets you to within 3m range. It actually took me a few minutes to find it as the surroundings have changed from the last time. Update 12/25/2012 : Visited the cache and it's all still there, as the last one that found it described. They have cleared out some trees near the beginning of the ATV trail but further down is still all treed in. Actually was able to walk over the swampy section the ice was hard enough to support Mulder and I. The dirt road in seems to be cleared of snow and in much better shape since I placed the cache there. Any car should be able to make it to the entrance of the ATV trail section now, possibly exempting in the Spring it would likely be pretty soft and muddy! This cache is located on an ATV trail just before you reach a typically water-covered section of the trail. If driving a car your best bet is to park at the end of the paved section (on Base Road) and walk in to the ATV trail. It is closer to the Garnett Settlement side of Base Road but can be accessed from either side. Depending on the time of the year you can drive right to the trail (in a automobile) and if on an ATV pretty much right to it. Terrain is not difficult but parts can be muddy depending on the time of the year. The unpaved section of the road is not normally cleared of snow in the winter time so it could be a difficult hike if a snowmobile hasn't made a track in there yet. Standard Ammo Box contains a log book, a couple of old Nintendo games and some beer coasters. Fell free to trade what is in there for something you have. There is also a camera in there, take a picture of you with the cache...I can't guarantee how well the camera works, it was pretty cheap. If I can get some pictures off it I'll post them in here. This is my first attempt at a cache, I didn't see any in the immediate area and there are some unmarked hikable trails in that area so it could turn into a day of hiking if you wander further down the dirt road. If you look on the satellite map there are a few roads off the main road that look like they go somewhere. It's changed a lot since when I originally placed the cache there 12 years ago.
